Copper repiping is a process of installing a new copper repipe system. This process usually includes removing old readily accessible pipes and installing the new plumbing system; the pipes which carry water into the house and the drains which carry water out of the house. Many new and old homes built in Los Angeles have copper, CPVC plastic, PEX or the old galvanized pipes as their source of water supply to showers, faucets, toilets and etc.

Copper pipes are very durable and have a life of 40 to 50 years. There are 4 kinds of copper available to home owners and contractors; K, L, M and DWV. K type copper is the most durable and expensive that is used for under concrete slab foundations. L type is also durable which is used for all types of water supply, and it has a thicker wall than M type. M type is the lighter weight and cheapest copper, price wise. As a contractor and owner of Extreme Plumbing & Rooter, I always use L or K type. DWV copper is mainly used for drain vent and waste. Unlike galvanized pipes, copper does not corrode. Any contractor or plumber who performs copper re-pipes should do their 100% best to clean the copper pipes after they are soldered together. If a house has copper plumbing, it is very easy for a plumber to repair a leak. Old galvanized pipes are very hard to repair leaks in. If you hire us to replace your old pipes with new pipes, we do our 100% best not to damage dry wall, stucco and etc. We will open walls only as much as we need to.

Copper re-pipe will increase the value of your home. On an average sized home, 2 bathroom, kitchen, laundry, water heaters, it takes our team of professionals approximately 4 to 5 days to complete. We will give you one full bathroom to use during the job so there is no need to move out during the repairs. If you have water leaks, or any questions, please feel free to give us a call.
